Changes in EVP Office 9.2.0
EVP Office 9.2.0 is a major release, and we encourage you to upgrade at your earliest convenience.
Features
- EstateVal, GiftVal, and CostBasis can now read holdings from brokerage and account statements if they’re PDFs, Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, CSVs, text files, or PNG or JPG / JPEG images; artificial intelligence processes the document and returns the security identifiers and share amounts
- A new column has been added to the grid, to show the status of any automatically extracted lots—an “AI sparkle” icon in the right-most column means the lot was extracted via AI, while a blank space means the lot was entered manually, copy-and-pasted, or imported; an empty sparkle means the extraction was successful and the identifier looks like a security (has a proper length and check-digit, etc.) but has not been billed; a gold one means the extraction has been billed; a black one means the extraction was unsuccessful and the identifier is incorrect (and has been replaced by the text “ERR0001” where “0001” increments for each unsuccessful extraction)
- As an aid in verifying the AI-extracted holdings, the applications can now also read out loud from the grid, so you can follow along on the printed version—just select a lot and use arrow-down to read the next one in the portfolio
- The EVP Office applications now support multiple Account Codes, allowing the user to dynamically switch between which account is billed for usage
- The grid in EstateVal, GiftVal, and CostBasis now support selecting multiple rows at the same time, to cut, copy, and clear them en mass
- Right-clicking on the grid allows the sum of the shares in either the selected rows or the entire portfolio to be displayed
- EstateVal, GiftVal, and CostBasis can now evaluate ISINs (12-digit identifiers for foreign securities)—just enter them into the grid like any other identifier
- Duplicate identifiers in EstateVal, GiftVal, and CostBasis now have a visual indication (the background of each duplicate turns yellow); this option is defaulted to on but can be disabled via
Tools → Options → General → Duplicate Identifier Color - Export files, and PDF and Excel reports, are now forcibly saved with the appropriate extension, to prevent accidentally overwriting EVP Office portfolio (“.evp”) files with non-portfolio data
- The ONESOURCE / ProBate export file now includes the dated-date for bonds
- Jimmy Carter’s funeral market closure was added to the built-in holidays
- More calculations are performed with the high-precision math library introduced in EVP Office 9.1.3
Fixes
- EVP Office now include a relevant client-side TLS certificate in a local CA bundle, to prevent the “local issuer” secure transport error
- Saving a landscape-oriented report to PDF no longer shows a squashed-portrait page
- EstateVal no longer crashes with graphics-context resource exhaustion after editing hundreds of adjusted inventories
- Name Preview uses the invented names when in “Training Mode” instead of pulling actual identifier names
- EstateVal properly prices on the adjusted-inventory evaluation date for adjustments to Distribution and Appraisal Reports
- CapWatch now sizes its window correctly in all Windows configurations and at all zoom levels
- EVP Office applications no longer wait for multiple minutes on a non-responsive server; they now time-out and retry after 15 seconds
- Copy, Cutting and Pasting rows into the grid now support IRS values in EstateVal
- The “XML Report (Foreign Prices)” export now sets the file-extension to “.xml” automatically
- Corrects a misspelling in
