EVP Everywhere Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

  • If I use EVP Everywhere, how will I be billed?

    If you run an evaluation via EVP Everywhere -- from inside a trust system like TEdec or GEMS or your own in-house implementation -- you'll be billed the same way you would be billed if you'd evaluated the securities in EstateVal, at the same price. The EVP Everywhere evaluations will appear on your monthly invoice, intermingled with any evaluations you ran using the EVP Office applications. If you need to distinguish between what was run in EstateVal and what was run through EVP Office, the spreadsheet that comes with e-mailed invoices includes that information. If you're not currently getting e-mailed invoices (or you're getting them without the summary or detailed spreadsheet attachment), please contact our Billing Department to set it up.

  • When I set up EVP Everywhere, will EstateVal continue to work?

    Yes. EstateVal will continue to work as it always has. It and EVP Everywhere are totally different pieces of software that just happen to share a lot of the same code. Enabling one doesn't affect the other.

  • How do I get an Account Information Key to enable EVP Everywhere?

    If you are already an EVP Systems client, an Account Information Key is available from our Support Department, at (818) 313-6300 or support@evpsys.com.

    If you're not an EVP Systems client, you can sign-up for free on our website, and an Account Information Key will be sent to you.

GEMS Questions

  • Which versions of GEMS support EVP Everywhere?

    EVP Everywhere is currently supported for 2019 FTP Returns.

  • How do I use an EVPS.DT0 file to enable EVP Everywhere?

    If you already have EVP Office (including EstateVal) installed on the computer you're running GEMS from, you don't need to enter an Account Information Key to activate EVP Everywhere. Instead select the Utilities → EVP Everywhere Interface menu item in GEMS, and then click 1. EVP Everywhere Credentials. Make sure the Activate EVP Everywhere checkbox is enabled, along with Attach EVPS.DT0 data file. Finally, click the ... under "Full path and name of the authentication file:" and then click Search for file.

    GEMS will search your system for your EVP Office evaluation, and show the path of the Account Information File it finds, so EVP Everywhere can use it. When it succeeds, simply click OK.

  • Does GEMS keep a record of each evaluation performed with the EVP Everywhere functionality like EstateVal has billing records?

    Yes. If you go to Utilities → EVP Everywhere Interface and 3. EVP Everywhere Evaluation History Report, GEMS will show you the billing records. If you receive your EVP Systems invoice via e-mail, a spreadsheet with a breakdown of evaluations (including those done through EVP Everywhere) is also included.

  • Can I get the securities I've evaluated in GEMS into EstateVal?

    Yes. GEMS can export an EstateVal portfolio file that can be loaded directly into the desktop software for further evaluations or editing.

    To export the file, select the Utilities → EVP Everywhere Interface menu item in GEMS, and then click 2. Create EstateVal Desktop File. Enter a filename. GEMS will create a file that EstateVal can then open, by double clicking on it or using the File → Open... menu in EstateVal.
