EVP Office 8.5.2: Native Excel Export, Better Copy-and-Paste, Mailing Lists

The latest version of EVP Office—8.5.2—is now available as a free upgrade for all users. The release features dozens of new features and fixes, including the ability to export all reports as native Excel files (XLSX format), copy-and-paste individual columns into the grid, and an easy way to subscribe to (or unsubscribe from) the EVP Systems mailing lists.

To export any report as an Excel file, just go to Tools → Options... → Export in EstateVal, GiftVal, or CostBasis, and select Excel (XLSX) as the export format. After an evaluation, select File → Export → From [Program Name] → [Report Type]. The resulting data is a true Excel file, using the XLSX format. It’s similar to the older Excel (CSV) format, but can take advantage of column sizes, merged cells, and type-data to make loading and using the results easier than ever.

Version 8.5.2 also allows better copy-and-paste from Excel into the grid of each of the applications. Previously, all the columns in the EstateVal, GiftVal, or CostBasis grid had to be copied from Excel in the proper order as a single action. Now, you can copy-and-paste individual columns, one at a time. This allows much easier transfer of data if the columns in Excel aren’t in the same order than the EVP Office applications need them in—they can come over one at a time: Identifiers, say, then shares, and then the GiftVal Basis Date.

The new release also allows you to subscribe to (or unsubscribe from) the EVP Systems mailing lists: EVP Office Releases, EVP Website Articles, and EVP Systems Notifications. Just select Tools → Update User..., enter your e-mail address, and select the lists you’re interested in. The first only sends mail when there’s a new version of EVP Office available; the second only sends mail when there’s a new article on our website; and the third only sends mail when there’s an emergency notification. And we will never spam you, sell your information, or abuse your trust.

There are tons of other new features, too, like functionality to make connectivity through proxies easier, and to require certain information in the fields on the main screen to conform to any corporate policies you might have, and a new installer that allows the programs to be added to your computer without an administrator’s password.

As always, this new version of EVP Office is totally free of charge and can be downloaded right now. If you run into any trouble installing it, or need a new Account Information Key during the installation, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Support Department at support@evpsys.com, (818) 313-6300, or on our website.
